Assigning static MAC on cards on ESXi

Hi,
Currently when I assign static MAC on my vyos network adapters cards (on ESXi setup) instead of my cards being presented as eth0, eth1, eth2, eth3 - they appear as eth4, eth5, eth6, eth7.

Also the bootup test results have the following fail message since change the MAC to static:

  • “Starting VyOS router: migrate rl-system firewall configure change failed!”

Any ideas as to why?

Before changing MAC you need to remove existing hw-id on all interfaces
