File transfers too slow

I am running VyOS 1.1.8 and the file transfers that pass through the FW are not more than 540 Mbps (iperf test) even when I connect two workstations (1Gbps NIC) directly to the VyOS interfaces.
When I connect the work stations (P2P), the file transfer is up to 1 Gbps
Any ideas?

do you happen to be running a realtek nic on your VyOS box?

im running a TP-Link Model TG-3269 rev 3.1

Chip 1: Realtek RTL8169SC

It’s a Realtek. I am not surprised.
