I am using latest rolling release of vyos. I am facing issue while setting up pppoe server. At first when I configured pppoe server it started working and subscribers connected. But all of the sudden it crashed. Subscribers disconnected. I restarted computer. After that started getting out of memory issue in accel-ppp
I moved hdd to another computer with 3 times of current ram. Same issue.
I would suggest for the scale you are trying to operate at here, and the constant weekly posts, you should look at the support offered commercial by VyOS.
You only say the new machine has 3 times more RAM, could you be more specific how much? I’ve been running two PPPoE servers on VyOS 1.3.x for a long time with no out of memory issues, but I have 8GB of RAM which may be enough to not notice a small memory leak, as it also does BGP (full Internet routing tables, both IPv4 and IPv6) which needs a lot of RAM anyway. You might want to try the build-it-yourself option, it’s a lot of steps to follow carefully but possible to build thanks to the work of some (former) users of this forum.
yes. Initially it was 4GB. Then I tested on 12GB RAM. Total 200 subscribers. Maybe it would be version bug. I will test it again and then update. And thanks for the help.
