Hello I would like to know if it is possible to use breakout cables on vyos.
I currently have 40G cards and I would like to split the port into 4x10G.

According to http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/guides/qsfp-configuration-utility-quick-usage-guide.pdf this must be done with a firmware change and individual interfaces will pop up then as I understood it.
This is something that is heavily dependent on the cards in use. Like 95% or more of cards can’t do this.
These breakout cables are designed for the switch side, not the NIC side.
