Are you referring to monitor your VyOS instance with NAGIOS?

I am monitoring some aspects of a VyOS server with Nagios, using some fairly simple custom scripts. The nagios server or nagios plugins are not running on VyOS though.

my preferred method is scripted ssh with a non-privileged “nagios” shell user, set up with public key authentication.

I had to mess about a bit parsing output of the “nping” command as VyOS 1.2.X does not including the more easy to script “fping” command…
