We run ~60 vyos vm’s with nat, statefull firewalling, ipsec, and a little bit of everything for small businesses.
We dont have much traffic (total less than 10Gbps), only use ~40GHz out of 250GHz available, but we’re not happy with single thread performance.
We want to offer some 10Gbps services, and the old processors doesn’t perform well in single tcp connections.
Today we have six servers with HP DL380 G8 with Xeon CPU E5-2670 @ 2.60GHz, 8 cores, 16 threads each.
I’m looking to replace these with two or three new servers.
Any recommendations?
