DMVPN with dynamic nbma

Hi,

I created a dmvpn setup starting back then with VyOS 1.3 and migrated over the years to VyOS 1.5-stream-2025-Q2 which worked fine.

Because my hubs are using dynamically assigned public addresses with a dyndns setup I used
set protocols nhrp tunnel dynamic-map nbma-domain-name
to setup the tunnel. I didn’t had any issues with this setup in the past.

After upgrading to VyOS 2025.11 this config option is not available anymore, is there any other possible way to connect to hubs with dynamic addresses?

Only thing which came to my mind was to create a script resolving the dns of the hub every x minutes and then reconfigure the nbma address….

Hi @alexander.f.berger .

VyOS 2025.11 uses NHRP FRR under the hood, whereas VyOS 1.5-stream-2025-Q2 uses OpenNHRP. Using FQDN is not implemented now, but FRR allows it NHRP — FRR latest documentation . If this feature is important for you, please create a feature request at https://vyos.dev.
