Doing BGP in local with a remote IX

Hi there,

I have a situation that I am not sure how to make things work, so I would need some hands here.

We have two sites.

A is where we do our maing BGP and connect to our upstream.
B is a remote site that we have Internet Exchange fiber, connected to a VYOS router.

I want to ask that is it possible to access to the IPs assigned by the IX on Site B, in our Site A, where we do our main BGP.

Basically I want to be able to connect to the IX remotely without losing connectivity to the prefixes we have in our Site A.

We connect site A to site B via GRE tunnel and do an iBGP, but when advertising the prefixes to the IX via GRE tunnel BGP session, when a request hit to the IX, that connection lost, it does not reach to our main routing table at site A.

I hope I was able to explain it well, if not, please feel free to ask questions to clarify.

If my approach is wrong, I would be grateful if someone can shed a light towards right direction.

Both routers are on VyOS 1.4.0.

Cheers,
Vin

The question is not related VyOS. Why not ask your IX ISP?

Both routers on site A and site B are running vyos. How come is not related to VYOS?

Basically the question is connecting 2 vyos boxes and being able to communicate IX IPs (site B) from our main location (site A)

It is not question to VyOS

Because the configuration on two site isn’t proper.

So that’s a configuration question as how to connect two sites properly, so from site A we can ping local IX IP at site B.

Please help me to delete the thread, I’ll rearrange things and open a new one with a clearer explanations.
