Dual Nic i225 Amazon

I bought a device for VyOS at home on a lightning deal with some Amazon Christmas money about two years ago but didn’t realize it was dual realtek… Whenever I would have problems with it, I would swap back to a Mikrotik Hex (which has its own issues)

The realtek attached to the AP will go on the literal blink

As we all know… the house is happy when the wifi doesn’t work… (… having discretionary money is not a norm but, no one is happy when the wifi doesn’t work ) anyway I found this on Amazon and think for $150 that it will run VyOS great… I literally wish I could have spent the extra $20 for the 16G, but…

They had two ‘deals’ which got me $38 off… at the end of it it’s $153, dual eth, 8G ram, 256 NVMe

Also says wifi… but not sure what that is, or if it can work…

Hoping for the best…

(thanks for listening…)

Good luck - can you link to the box you bought? I’m always interested in small multi-nic devices.
I’ve got a QOTOM box that I love but has always plagued me with powering off after anywhere between 20-90 days. I think I’ve fixed it by replacing the RAM but I’m too nervous to put it back into “production” at my house for exactly the fear it’ll crash/power off and upset the family

BIOS defaults to boot when powered… so after a power fail, it will boot (nice)

Starting from USB was a little tricky…
