Hardware compatibility note: Mele Quieter DL N100 miniPC - works

I just upgraded my old Zotac CI232 based firewall to a newer Intel N100 cpu mini PC with dual rtl8125b 2.5GB NICs.

seems to be working very well though I have not tried it at full bandwidth as I don’t have a 2.5G switch.

This is a nice form factor for a home firewall as it is a compact dual NIC fanless design that sits on my switch. The smallest 4G RAM / 128G eMMC configuration is more than enough for VyOS

plenty of info on youtube re: this as a general purpose PC.

there is an odd design choice with the power supply noted here: FKA ZOG: "I recently ordered a little mini PC. Which has co…" - jauntygoat.net

running VyOS Stream 1.5-2025-Q2

It uses about 5.2 W running VyOS… though interestingly Xubuntu Linux used about 4.5W idle.

Can confirm I am using several of these in various roles using stream-Q2 although all of them on 1GB switches. Not a problem so far.
