I’ve hit an insurmountable wall when trying to register for vyos.dev via GitHub. The “Create a New Account” page (after the GitHub OAuth flow) allows me to enter my account information, but when I click “Register an Account,” I’m greeted with the following screen.
Just to let you know you’re not alone, I am also still facing this error. I posted about it 7 weeks ago without response, and even with the release of single sign-on I get the same error after the GitHub flow.
I saw your post a while ago when I was first facing the same issue. I came back to post again because it seemed the problem was still unresolved, and I was running into the exact same error after the GitHub flow.
However, for reasons unknown, my problem seems to have just resolved itself today! I finally received the email: “Your Phorge account has been approved by syncer.” and I was able to complete the registration. (However, I registered via email, not GitHub.)
I know this doesn’t help solve your current situation, but I wanted to let you know that it might resolve for you unexpectedly soon as well. Good luck!
Did you register with an email through VyOS SSO? I’ve tried both that, and GitHub through VyOS SSO, and both of them are stuck with this error. I’m hoping for some good luck as well, as I do have a bugfix and a couple of small feature additions that I would love to contribute back to VyOS, but I apparently can’t do that unless I can create a task on Phorge first.
I’m glad to see responses here both acknowledging the issue and offering advice, especially from a member of the team, thank you!
Today I tried again to create a Phabricator account on vyos.dev, using the new VyOS SSO → GitHub flow, to no avail. In the interests of avoiding any ambiguity or misunderstanding, I recorded a screencast of my entire registration process up to encountering the unhandled exception (external website since WebM is unsupported for upload here). Hopefully this can be used to identify the cause of the issue.
