Install to HDD or SSD

Hi,

Would it be best to install vyos on a hard drive or solid state drive?

Is there any performance improvement with SSD.

Hello sd0,

I see nonperformance improvement of an SSD in a VyOS router as the harddisk is only used for logging once the system is up and running.

Still I operate all my devices with an SSD/mSATA drive as I do not like rotating parts and 32GB SSDs are pretty cheap.

So its totally up to your flavor.

Hi,
I think you will not achieve much performance because vyos does not use much io or read/write speed.
