L2TPv3 (bridge) or GRE (gretap)

I have been testing arround with creating Layer2 bridge tunnels between 2 vyos routers.

Via L2TVPv3 (without ipsec) and via GRE (gretap);
L2TPv3: l2tpethX bridged together with a eth interface on both ends.
GRE: tunX bridged together with a eth interface on both ends.

Both setups are working fine. I am able to stretch my layer2 network from one router to the other. But what I cant really figure out is what the best approach would be for my permanent setup. GRE or L2TPv3. I dont need encryption or Ipsec etc. Just the layer2 encapsulation part.

Does anyone have any advice?

you can use VxLAN as well, but in my case I prefer Gre or VxLAN for interoperability with other devices.
