Must reboot for changes to commit

Hi Guys

We recently started using VYOS, and we notice that everytime we make changes or event restart a service without booting, the changes dont take effect. The only way is to restart the firewall.

Can anyone please advise on this?

Its quite frustrating when you see something is correct, but it isnt. IE VPN tunnel, it says its up, but really it isnt. Only way to show correct information is to restart.

Hello,
you likely don’t want restart services and edit configs manually
you can disable/enable with commit.

Yeah, we tried disable and enable with commit, still doesnt work. Only thing that works is reboot. Is this a bug?

What services are you talking about that need a reboot? For instance , dnsmasq re-starts fine here after altering “set service dns-forward…” rule
