PKI config gone after reboot VyOS 2025.09.27-0018-rolling

Hello dear sirs,

I’m seeing strange VyOS behavior in VyOS 2025.09.27-0018-rolling and in 2025.09.17-0018-rolling earlier. After reboot I got warning when enter configuration mode:

WARNING: There was a config error on boot: saving the configuration now could overwrite data.
You may want to check and reload the boot config

When I do “compare commands 0” I see that all PKI section is gone - CAs and ACME certificate. After “load” command I get my config back and after commit I see Let’s Encrypt certificate being getting from scratch. After that everything works like a charm till next reboot.

What diagnostics / logs should I check?

TIA, regards,
Konstantin

Hi,

I have found this issue few months ago but didn’t recive any feedback how to fix or avoid.

I reverted my instalation to early more or less stable verions (in meands of CA/PKI) from april/may 2025.

Bug confirmed and tracked via ⚓ T7885 pki: configuration issues on reboot when ACME is used together with OpenConnect
