Please increase or remove the autoclose of forumthreads

Not the first time I encounter a nerdrage over that threads in this forum autocloses after 30 days.

I get that you want to minimize necroposting and/or spam but c’mon - 30 days!?

Why not please increase that to 365 days or remove it all together?

Or add an option to reporting where you can ask the thread to be re-opened and at the same time add the post you wish to add so it can be re-opened?

In this particular case its about Load-balancing first sticky? - #6 by WanWizard where I want to add that these lines are needed:

set system sysctl parameter net.ipv4.ip_nonlocal_bind value ‘1’
set system sysctl parameter net.ipv6.ip_nonlocal_bind value ‘1’

At one point I used the “privately flag this post for attention” button to re-open an auto-closed topic. I selected the “Something Else” option and asked if the post could be re-opened. The topic was re-opened within a couple of hours or a day. I do not know if this is the officially recommended way to do it, but you could at least give it a try.
