VyOS Nightly Builds - OVA

Hello VyOS team,

We currently use VyOS in our SDDC.Lab GitHub project that we created to help people learn VMware technologies. Our project currently uses the ISO’s available in the “VyOS Nightly Build” section to deploy the virtual router.

We are wondering if the VyOS team would consider also including the OVA installer to the VyOS Nightly Builds in addition to the ISO file that is currently published? It would really simplify the VyOS router deployment for not only us, but I’m sure many others who try out the VyOS Nightly Builds.

I realize that the OVA is available via a subscription, but most of the people that use our SDDC.Lab for learning would likely not have the funds for a subscription. Plus, we have no need for an LTS release, as this is just a learning platform that gets destroyed and rebuilt often, so a Nightly Build OVA is sufficient.

You can create it yourself using for example VirtualBox.

Install a VM-guest running latest VyOS Nightly Build ISO then export this as an OVA file (you can choose between OVAv1 and OVAv2).

This can be done through CLI so you could script this to make less manual labour.

Or just getting a commercial license from VyOS to have that OVA delivered to you:
