I moved over to the stream release earlier this yearr for more predictable and stable releases. On the stream page it mentions quarterly releases. We’re getting close to the end of the year, and I was wondering when we might expect another update to the stream releases as while I appreciate the more stable releases, I also don’t want to fall too far behind on patches are core functionality.

VyOS Stream serves as a technology preview and a quality gate for the upcoming LTS release. New images are releases roughly every quarter.

I’m not a maintainer, so they may have a different view, but here’s my take on what Stream is.
It’s an early tech preview of the next LTS release, so there won’t really be snapshots like a rolling or nightly release would have. They may be waiting for a feature/fix to get merged before releasing, so it could be released at the start of the quarterly window, at the end, or miss the window entirely.
You can loosely follow the progress of the release on the Phabricator board for Q3: VyOS 1.5 Circinus (1.5-stream-2025-Q3) · Workboard
Just keep in mind that the status of that board won’t necessarily reflect where the release is at any given point. But if you follow that workboard, you’ll see that continual work is being done towards the Q3 release, it just takes time. Ultimately, like LTS, it’ll be released when it’s ready.
