Curious how the rolling release is integrating wireguard. Is it pulling the latest release source or pinned to an older release. If the latter, are there plans to ensure the latest tagged release source/packages are used?

Looking at the jenkins file I assume this is the version currently integrated into rolling
debian/1.0.20200908-1_bpo10+1

Yes, you can check packets with the following command
vyos@vyos:~$ show version all | grep wireguard
ii wireguard-modules 1.0.20200908-1~bpo10+1 all fast, modern, secure kernel VPN tunnel (Kernel module)
ii wireguard-tools 1.0.20200827-1~bpo10+1 amd64 fast, modern, secure kernel VPN tunnel (userland utilities)
