I guess the LTS release anouncement has shamed me into participating. I’ve been a long time user since Version 1.0 of Vyatta and don’t hesitate to recommend it to others. Unfortunately, most of those people don’t make purchasing decisions for the companies they work for.
I run a small time, highly available, VPS cluster with a handful of VyOS routers sitting in the middle. They are all setup in pairs with VRRP running in separate KVM hypervisors with a another pair on the front end running on bare metal.
After reading the LTS release announcement, I was appalled to hear the LTS images were being distributed by others. Yes, I compile my own images from source, but wouldn’t dream of giving them out to anyone else.
Ever since the fork from Vyatta, I’ve planned to participate in the community at whatever level I can, but I always seem to have been too busy. So, I pledge to try to change that. I am by no means an expert at any of this, but will try to help as best I can.
